ABOUT MS. MUÑOZ ~ I am currently in my 31st year of teaching English Language Arts in LAUSD! As a National Board Certified English Teacher (since 1998), with a Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), I have taught a variety of classes (from ESL to Honor's/Gifted English) in middle school and high school.
I was raised in San Clemente, CA, and ventured north to Los Angeles to attend college at USC when I was 18. I've been living in the LA area ever since, and currently reside in Pasadena with my family.

Teaching in the Environmental Studies Magnet at King has truly been a wonderful experience! My family and I have been dedicated to "Being More Green" over the years, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to work with kids, families and teachers who have the same dedication to the environment. My family and I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with our dog (Lilly), chickens, pond-full of koi, and cockatiel (Frost). My daughter will begin her apprenticeship as a falconer in the fall, so a red tail hawk will be in our company for the next few years as well.

Teaching runs in my family. My husband was an AP Environmental Science teacher and Instructional Coach, and is now an Assistant Principal. My brother is a middle school Computer Teacher, and my sister-in-law was a first grade teacher. My 14 year old daughter, Xochitl, loves everything Science and Nature, and is an avid reader. She also might be a teacher when she grows up, although at this present time she states that she'll be a scientist.
